ARP 2000P/E Surface System

System for recording and analyzing low-frequency ground and structural vibration accelerations

Application

Comprehensive assessment of the impact of vibrations on the surface. The system enables the detection of vibrations caused by mining, seismic, or transportation activity, time-synchronous recording of signals from single-, dual-, or three-component accelerometric (or electrodynamic) sensors distributed over an area of virtually unlimited size, and their digital transmission via radio link to a central processing unit. The central software allows for the processing and archiving of collected data as well as for conducting analyses to assess the harmful effects of vibrations on buildings in accordance with applicable standards.

System Functions

  • Recording and analysis of low-frequency ground and structural vibrations in areas exposed to mining-induced and other types of seismic events (tectonic, transportation, etc.),
  • Modular system design allows the implementation of distributed measurement networks,
  • Wireless data transmission via GSM cellular networks.

System Properties

The hardware configuration of the ARP 2000P/E system consists of field and station components. The station part is located at the surface hazard monitoring center and includes a PC (or multiple PCs) with internet access, which communicates with the field measurement concentrators, and software for data archiving, visualization, and preliminary processing.

The ARP 2000P/E system includes the following devices:

  • GPS receiver with integrated antenna (GARMIN GPS 18x-LVS) equipped with a "1-second pulse" output for precise time measurement,
  • Single-component seismometric sensor "SN/ARP transmission station" or three-component accelerometric sensor type CZP3X,
  • Local Measurement Concentrator type LKP-ARP equipped with a GSM cellular modem and internal memory for archiving seismic events.
