The TURO-31 flameproof switch is a component of the TURO-A power electronics equipment, intended for controlling the traction motor in LeaBM-12 flameproof battery-powered mining locomotives.
The switch is also available in the TURO-31U variant, which features an extended supply voltage range for control and lighting circuits (17 V – 50 V).
The switch includes a current regulation module for the locomotive's traction motor. Current regulation is achieved by cyclically switching the motor power circuit on and off using a DC switch controlled by the regulator. The current values at which switching on and off occurs depend on the currently selected current setpoint.
The TURO-31 switch is an intrinsically safe device of Group I, Category M2.
